Description: Officer Lenox was one of four officers on patrol on the lookout for bank robbers who were reportedly headed their way. As the patrol car drove past the robber's car, the robbers opened fire on the officers, wounding Officer Lenox and Chief of Police Jack Ary. Deputy Norris was hit by flying glass. Officer Lenox died of his injuries within the hour. Chief Ary and Deputy Norris survived.
