Description: Deputy Sheriff Lucy was shot as he attempted to arrest a suspect on a charge of larceny. After reading the warrant, Deputy Lucy allowed the suspect to go back inside the residence to retrieve his hat. The suspect emerged with a shotgun and shot Deputy Lucy in the head. Deputy Lucy died at the scene. Deputy Hamilton Ray returned fire, killing the suspect.
