Description: Police Officer Loftin was shot in exchange of gunfire as he and Officer Dell approached a suspect who had just fired his gun in the air. Officer Loftin and Officer Dell returned fire and wounded the suspect. Officer Loftin was transported to the hospital where he died. The suspect was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison.
