Description: Patrolman Lacey was shot during a riot between union and non-union workers during a labor dispute. When one of the men he was assigned to protect was assaulted, Patrolman Lacey went to the aid of man who was being assaulted and was shot by a second man. Patrolman Lacey was shot in the chest and died at the scene. His assailant was arrested and charged with murder.
