Description: On September 8, 2017, Police Officer Martinez was severely injured in a motorcycle crash while escorting permitted loads on the Gulf Freeway in League City, Texas. Officer Martinez was in full uniform and on his personal motorcycle while passing the trucks in the escorted convoy when he swerved in an attempt to avoid a collision and struck the rear of one of the trucks. He was transported to the hospital and succumbed to his injuries a week later on September 17th.
