Description: Police Officer McCarty was shot when he answered a disturbance call regarding a suspect brandishing a pistol and making threats. When Officer McCarty ordered the suspect to drop the weapon and raise his hands, the suspect shot Officer McCarty. Officer McCarty died at the scene. The suspect fled the scene and was not captured.
