Description: Officer Miller was shot on the steps of City Hall by a suspect picked up by for questioning regarding a series of burglaries. When Officer Miller opened the back door of his squad car, the suspect opened fire. Officer Miller returned fire and struck the suspect in the leg. The suspect fled the area and was arrested approximately four weeks later in St. Louis, Missouri. The suspect was sentenced to 100 years for murder but was paroled after serving only 24 years.
