Description: Detective Mallen was shot in the face during a drug raid in Gloucester County on a Wednesday evening. He was participating in the execution of a search warrant when his assailant, a 58-year-old drug dealer, suddenly fired a shotgun at close range. Detective Mallen was the first plain clothes trooper to be killed in the line of duty.
