Description: Officer McCray was making his rounds of the housing complex when he was surprised by a suspect at gunpoint. A verbal argument between Officer McCray, his partner, Officer John Perry, and the suspect ended in shots fired. Officer McCray received a fatal chest wound. Officer Perry was struck but returned fire, striking the suspect four times. The suspect was sentenced to 38 years to life, plus 25 years for aggravated murder.
