Description: An unknown person contacted the department and asked for the FBI to be sent to his home. Officer Mims was the first officer to arrive at the scene. As he pulled into the driveway, the suspect opened fire from inside the house with an assault rifle. Officer Mims was shot several times in the head and chest area. Moments later, Sergeant Russell arrived and was also shot and killed after exiting his patrol vehicle.
