Description: Patrolman Markwood responded to a robbery in progress call at a local convenience store on the west side of Lancaster. Patrolman Markwood identified the suspect fleeing from the scene and engaged in a foot pursuit. During the pursuit, the suspect produced a .38 caliber revolver and shot Patrolman Markwood in the face. Patrolman Markwood was transported to a local hospital where he later died.
