Description: Captain Motley was off-duty at a family gathering when he noticed a child was lying motionless at the bottom of a swimming pool. Captain Motley immediately jumped into the pool and brought the child to safety. As Captain Motley attempted to get out of the pool, he slipped fell on his face striking his head on the cement pool. Although three doctors poolside immediately began CPR on Officer Motley, he never regained consciousness and was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
