Description: Agent McClure was patrolling the Mt. Pulaski train yard on the lookout for a gang of thieves wanted for robbing freight trains. Agent McClure and Agent O.G. Chapman came across three hobos around a campfire. When Agent McClure ordered the men to come forward, one of the suspects pulled out a gun and shot him once in the chest. Agent Chapman shot the suspect while the other two men fled. Agent McClure died at the scene.
