Description: Sheriff Mizell was shot and killed from an ambush while en route to arrest a fellow cattleman. Sheriff Mizell and his brother went to arrest a Cattleman Moses Barber for refusal to pay a tax on cattle he had purchased. Sheriff Mizell and his brother were ambushed while en route to arrest the suspect. The murder of Sheriff Mizell intensified a feud that resulted in at least seven more deaths.
