Description: Officer Meinke was shot and killed during a riot by soldiers following the arrest of two members of their Company. Nineteen mutinous soldiers were hanged and sixty-three received life sentences in federal prison. Officers Rufus Daniels, Horace Moody, Ross Patton and Ira Raney were also killed in this incident.
