Sergeant Moore was providing security at an apartment complex when he approached a suspicious man in the parking lot and questioned him. When Sergeant Moore turned away to check the suspect's identification information, the suspect shot Sergeant Moore. The suspect was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison
