Description: Officer Maddox was shot and killed while investigating gunshots. Two officers were already engaged in a shootout with a robbery suspect when Officer Maddox and his partner responded to the scene to investigate. The suspect fired upon their police wagon and killed Officer Maddox. The suspect was subsequently sentenced to death for Officer Maddox's murder and executed two years later.
