Description: Lieutenant McLain and a deputy responded to a call of shots fired. When they arrived at the scene they attempted to arrest two men for disorderly conduct and for drinking in public. Lieutenant McLain told the deputy to call for back-up when one of the suspects pulled a knife. Lieutenant McLain was assaulted and struck in the head by one of the suspects. He drew his gun and ordered the suspect to drop the knife. It was at that moment Lieutenant McLain suffered a fatal heart attack.
