Description: Marshal Meffan was shot and killed as he and another officer attempted to evict a suspect from a cabin on government lands. Marshal Meffan was shot and killed as he approached the cabin in his car. A large posse of law enforcement officers returned to the scene of the crime and blasted the cabin with bullets and explosives. The suspect died on the way to the mortuary.
