Description: Deputy Sheriff Maynard was shot as he was booking a robbery suspect at the county courthouse. Deputy Maynard was questioning the suspect regarding a breaking and entering incident when the suspect pulled a concealed .38 handgun and shot Deputy Maynard. The suspect exchanged gunfire with a second deputy before he was arrested. The suspect was convicted of murder.
