Description: Lieutenant Medlin was critically injured in an automobile accident while responding to a suspicious vehicle parked in front of a church. While responding, Lieutenant Medlin's drove off the left side of the roadway on the shoulder to avoid another vehicle. He lost control of his patrol car and flipped several times. Lieutenant Medlin was transported to a hospital, where he remained in a coma until his death five weeks later.
