Description: Colonel Malloy was shot and killed while searching for an armed suspect wanted for a double homicide. Colonel Malloy was part of the Holmes Correctional Institution??®s K-9 tracking team who were attempting to locate the suspect who fled into a wooded area in Holmes County, Florida. Colonel Malloy was shot by the suspect in an exchange of gunfire. Colonel Malloy was airlifted to a nearby hospital where he died. The suspect was also shot and killed during the exchange of gunfire.
