Description: Deputy McCormick and Constable W. Pitman were attempting to serve a warrant on a suspect who had broken out of jail. After agreeing to go with the officers, the suspect suddenly took Constable Pitman's weapon and shot Deputy McCormick in the head killing him instantly. Constable Pitman left the residence but returned with a posse, who shot the two brothers.
