Description: Agent McClure and his partner were appointed to ride aboard the Santa Fe Railroad train and investigate robberies that had recently occurred on the freight trains. When Agent McClure failed to return to the station at the end of the day, Chief Ben Williams immediately assembled a posse to search for Agent McClure. Agent McClure had apparently discovered the thieves who were stealing corn from a boxcar. His body was found face down in a deep well. Agent McClure had been shot four times, with a fatal gunshot wound to the head.
