Description: Officer McCall was shot by an inmate who was attempting to escape the Fort Bend County Central Prison Farm. The inmate, under the guise of needing medication, called out to Officer McCall. As Officer McCall approached the cell, the inmate shot him in the chest. Officer McCall returned fire, striking the inmate twice. Officer McCall died later that evening. The inmate survived.
