Description: Prison Guard McAteer was shot with his own gun by a prisoner in his custody. Guard McAteer escorted a prisoner to the guard shack on prison grounds to use a phone that prisoners were not allowed to use. Once inside, the prisoner gained possession of Guard McAteer's gun and shot him in the chest. Guard McAteer died on the way to the hospital.
