Description: Officer McBride was training for the department's bicycle unit. On his second day of training, Officer McBride was preparing for the 12-mile ride, and he drank as much as three gallons of water which caused his body to be over-hydrated. Paramedics were summoned to examine another officer when they noticed Officer McBride vomiting and convulsing. Officer McBride was transported to the Washington Hospital Center where he died of hyponatremia (water intoxication).
