Description: Deputy McSweeney was killed in a helicopter crash during a joint drug interdiction mission. The helicopter snagged on a power line and exploded into a hillside in western Imperial County. Also killed in this incident were Deputy Roy A. Chester, Sergeant Richard G. Romero, Deputy Mark Steven Tonkin, Investigator Michael David Davis and three National Guardsmen.
