Description: Deputy Morefield was shot while attempting to arrest a suspect wanted for two murders. Deputy Morefield issued a warrant for the suspect and deputized three citizens to assist with the arrest. The officers located the suspect hiding in a shack and ordered him to come out. The suspect and two other men exited the shack shooting at the deputy and his men. Deputy Moorefield was struck in the chest and died.
