Description: Patrolman McCracken was shot as he escorted two men to the bank to make a deposit. Two suspects fled with $747 but were apprehended. The suspects were convicted of first degree murder and received life in prison. The suspects were part of a hold-up gang who were involved in the murder of Springfield, Ohio Patrolman Charles Holt (10-E: 7).
