Description: Probation Officer McCoy was shot with his own gun while performing a supervision check on an offender. As Officer McCoy approached the residence of the offender, he was ambushed by an individual who was unrelated to the visit. The individual attacked Officer McCoy and a struggle ensued, the suspect gained control of Officer McCoy's weapon and fatally shot him once in the head. Officer McCoy died at the scene. The suspect was later apprehended by law enforcement officers.
