Description: Agent Matkin was patrolling Highway 565 near Wildsville when he attempted to avoid a deer that suddenly crossed the highway. Agent Matkin swerved and lost control of his department vehicle and struck a tree. Agent Matkin was fatally injured in the single-car accident and was pronounced dead at the scene.
