Description: While on routine patrol, Deputy Mayfield and his senior officer were involved in an automobile accident. Deputy Mayfield was a passenger in the cruiser and was killed instantly when another car crossed the center line and hit the deputies head on. Deputy Troy Taylor was seriously injured in this accident.
