Description: Captain McDonough died of a heart attack while participating in a training run. Captain McDonough was on duty and running to maintain the physical fitness levels required by the department when he collapsed. Captain McDonough had completed 2??® miles of the 3 mile run when he collapsed and went into cardiac arrest. Despite the lifesaving efforts by EMS, Captain McDonough was pronounced dead at the scene.
