Description: Deputy Martin was shot when he and the Sheriff stopped a vehicle suspected of transporting whiskey. When the Sheriff pulled back the curtain in the car, the man in the back seat began shooting. Deputy Martin was able to return fire before he died. The suspect fled but was later apprehended and convicted of Deputy Martin's murder.
