Description: Lieutenant McKinney suffered a fatal heart attack following an all day mandatory session of tactical firearms training at the Whitfield County Training Center. While returning to the department, Lieutenant McKinney was able to radio the department's dispatch unit that he needed medical attention. He was transported immediately to the Hamilton Medical Center where he experienced another heart attack and died.
