Description: Deputy Morgan and his partner were transporting two prisoners back to Muskogee, Oklahoma from Tarrant County, Texas. One of the prisoners reached over the seat, grabbed Deputy Morgan's gun and shot him in the head with his own gun. The suspects fled the scene. The suspects were later determined to be implicated in the slaying of Phoenix Police Officer Haze Burch and Livingston Police Officer Charles Wilson. Deputy Morgan's assailant was later convicted for the murder and sentenced to life in prison. The second suspect was also convicted of murder and sentenced to 99 years in prison.
