Description: Police Officer Maples was killed in a single-vehicle crash while responding to assist fellow officers capture a suspect who had stolen a vehicle. While en route to the scene, Officer Maples lost control of his patrol vehicle while negotiating a curve and struck a utility pole. Officer Maples was airlifted to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
