Description: U.S. Marshal Muir was shot while attempting to serve a warrant to a parole violator. Deputy U.S. Marshal Robert Cheshire was also killed in this incident. The suspect escaped but was apprehended and killed later that year. Sheriff Harold Matthews, of Lawrence County, Arkansas, was killed in that incident.
