Description: Trooper Marshall was shot and killed during a hostage barricade incident. The standoff had begun the previous day when officers attempted to serve a felony warrant for criminal sexual conduct. The response team entered the residence, and the suspect opened fire with an AK-47 rifle. Trooper Marshall was shot fatally in the side, between the panels of his vest. The suspect was able to escape police authority undetected for a week before he was captured and killed by law enforcement officers.
