Description: Officer Mitchell was shot and killed while attempting to enter a mobile home. Police officers arrived at the home after receiving a call that shots had been fired. Officer Mitchell was fatally shot after a eleven hour stand-off as he and fellow SWAT team members stormed the mobile home. A fellow Gallup Police Officer, Michael Mitchell, was shot in the back but his bulletproof vest saved him from serious injury.
