Description: Supervisor Macarro and another correctional employee from the Youth Training School were escorting three inmates to the Los Angeles Medical Center for treatment. As they were about to depart, one of the inmates ran. Supervisor Macarro began a foot pursuit and was struck by a moving vehicle driven by a civilian hospital employee. Supervisor Macarro died an hour later from his injuries.
