Description: Sergeant Millard was fatally shot while attempting to arrest an escapee on the Colville Reservation in Washington. The Assistant Chief of Police John Dick was also shot but survived. Two men were found guilty of aggravated murder and assault in the first degree and sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.
