Description: Officer Massey was patrolling the streets of Evansville, Indiana when a local merchant stopped him and reported that a man had left his saloon without paying for a beer. When Patrolman Massey attempted to question the man, the man pulled a handgun and shot him in the abdomen. Patrolman Massey returned fire and fatally wounded the suspect. Patrolman Massey was transported to Deacons Hospital where he died the next day from his wounds.
