Description: Patrolman Maddox was shot and killed and three deputies were wounded, in an exchange of gunfire, as they attempted to serve a warrant. Patrolman Maddox was assisting the deputies as they attempted to arrest a suspect for failing to appear in court on a traffic violation. When Patrolman Maddox arrived at the scene, the suspect opened fired on the officers. Three deputies were wounded but survived. The suspect was killed.
