Description: Trooper Mignano and Officer Jason Hoerauf of the Albany, Oregon P.D., were struck and killed while assisting a family with a disabled van on I-5. Officer Hoerauf was riding along with his mentor, State Police Sergeant John Burright. While the three officers were standing next to the parked van, a pickup truck suddenly swerved across a lane of traffic and struck the three officers. Officer Hoerauf and Trooper Mignano were killed instantly. Sergeant Burright was critically injured and flown to a local hospital.
