Description: Officer Mayo responded to a disturbance call involving a man and woman who were engaged in a fight. The male suspect was armed and was fighting with the woman over a jewerly box. When Officer Mayo attempted to break up the fight the suspect shot Officer Mayo in the back severing his spine. Officer Mayo died while being transported to the local hospital.
