Description: Assistant Chief of Police Maslowski and Chief of Police George Dworski contracted Spanish Influenza while personally assisting victims of the disease. The officers were also tasked with placarding the houses of influenza victims. Assistant Chief Maslowski became ill on October 1, 1918 and died of influenza twelve days later on October 13th. Chief Dworski became ill on October 9, 1918 and died of pneumonia following influenza six days later.
