Description: Deputy U.S. Marshal McCausland was transporting prisoners from Fargo, Dakota Territory back to Minnesota when several of his prisoners escaped. Marshal McCausland pursued them, but was caught in a hazardous snowstorm. His frozen body was found after six days.
