Description: Warden McCrea and a deputy were transporting several prisoners from the Erie County Jail to the Western Penitentiary in Pittsburgh, when one of the prisoners slipped out of his handcuffs, jumped from the moving train and pulled Warden McCrea with him. When they fell to the ground, the suspect landed on top of Warden McCrea, killing him. The suspect was apprehended and charged with murder.
